Platform Fuels has appointed Steve Wambold Chief Executive Officer. An active and influential member of the National Propane Gas Association, Mr. Wambold, 52, has led successful teams as CEO of Ferrellgas and Team Drive-Away and has become a sought-after consultant to business owners.

During his nearly 20-year tenure with Ferrellgas, Mr. Wambold rose through the ranks from a single branch manager to CEO. He grew propane related EBITDA $150M and had full P&L responsibility for the $2B company before he left in 2016. He oversaw 900+ retail locations and 45,000 Blue Rhino selling sites and executed over 50 acquisitions.

When Platform Fuels boldly entered the propane industry in 2020 with its acquisition of six family-owned businesses, among those who noticed was Wambold, who became intrigued by the company’s commitment to continue the legacy, spirit and success of local propane business owners and operators while building and scaling a nationwide portfolio of consolidated independent propane marketers both large and small.
